ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN
SOCIAL WELFARE ADMINISTRATION
The Advanced Certificate in Social Welfare Administration is a part-time, evening programme. Conducted by the Department of Social Welfare Administration, this certificate course was initiated to meet the needs of social welfare organisations for advanced training in the management of social welfare programmes.
This part-time, two-semester programme is conducted at the Mumbai Campus of the Institute.
Students will be required to undertake fieldwork in an organisation other than their own. Field work will be assigned on the basis of individual and organisational needs and will be task oriented. This will cover scope, strategies for organisational change, human resource development, resource mobilisation and resource management, social aspects in monitoring and evaluation. Field work will be for one month at the end of the course work, for which students will be required to take leave for one month.
A project gives the student an opportunity to undertake problem solving, planning or research activity in an area of interest, which has relevance to his/her work situation. The subject area will be identified in the middle of the first semester and each student will be allotted a guide.
Master’s Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 3 years of work experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field of development administration of social welfare organisations, social services and social security measures.
