UGC REFRESHER COURSES

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has identified the Institute as a centre of excellence to conduct Refresher Courses in social work education. At the Tata Institute of Social Sciences , these Refresher Courses are organised by the Social Work Education and Practice Cell (SWEPC).

Till date, the Cell has conducted 34 Refresher Courses under this scheme. Moreover, it also conducted a Refresher Course for practising counsellors and field supervisors attached to Social Work Education Centres of the Midland Region, England, in 1994.

The Institute proposes to develop the SWEPC as an Academic Staff College, which will aim at providing orientation and refresher courses for the development of social work educators in India on a regular basis.
