The Tata Institute of Social Sciences has initiated several measures to bring its alumni into its mainstream activities. The TISS alumni have enthusiastically welcomed this initiative. The Institute will continuously strengthen the linkage with its alumni and devise ways to facilitate their active participation.

National Alumni Meet: The famed quadrangle of TISS, with the tree of knowledge which has been witness to many a student and events across generations, was the venue of the TISS Alumni Meet on the February 10 and 11, 2007. That TISS still generates a strong affinity amongst its alumni was reflected in the number of alumni who willingly invested their time to attend the meet. DRS-SAP Workshop for Alumni and Practitioners in Health and Mental Health: The Department of Medical and Psychiatric Social Work organised a Workshop for it Alumni as one of the first initiatives under its DRS programmes. This programme was organised with the objective of getting feedback and suggestions from the field.

Prof. Usha S. Nayar, Deputy Director, met with alumni based in New York and Boston during her professional visit to the United States of America. This is part of our ongoing efforts to reach out and dialogue with alumni on the future thrust area of work of the Institute.

URCD Alumni Workshop: In the backdrop of the curricular review process underway as well as alumni feedback over the years, the Department of Urban and Rural Community Developmentorganised a workshop for its alumni spanning 10 years. Several decisions were taken about concrete initiatives taken to consolidate the relationship between the Department and its alumni.
