UGC REFRESHER COURSES

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has identified the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) as a centre of excellence to conduct Refresher Courses in social work education, women's studies, human rights, research methodology and library and information sciences. Till date, the Institute has conducted 35 Refresher Courses under this scheme. Moreover, it also conducted a Refresher Course for practising counsellors and field supervisors attached to Social Work Education Centres of the Midland Region, England , in 1994.

The Institute proposes to develop a full-fledged Academic Staff College , which will aim at providing orientation and refresher courses for the development of social work educators in India on a regular basis.
