Don't

Directed by Ashwini Falnikar, Anand Kumre, Nikhil Thomas Titus, Sneha Anand

This is a public service commercial that tries to highlight the dangers of drunk driving.  It uses the element of comedy to gain the attention of the viewer and then puts the message across in dramatic fashion. It does not try to generate fear but instead gets the viewer to think about the serious consequences of his/her actions. And also implores them to be more responsible at the wheel.

Quit Now!

Directed by Sanjay Pratap Singh, Shaira Sequeira Shetty, Shalini Nirmal

This public service advertisement was made as a part of a project for our working with video course. The ad is an anti-tobacco ad, never actually condemning the audience to which it is directed, but trying to create an encouraging environment through its visuals and text.

Speak Up!

Directed by Nandita Mary Thomas, Pooja Das Sarkar, Subuhi Jiwani

This public service ad is meant to raise awareness for ‘10920’- a 24 hour helpline for women. It was an assignment made for the video class on social communication. While doing the research for this ad, we realised that it had been set up five years ago by the Central Government’s Social Welfare Board, however very few women that we spoke to knew that it existed. In light of the recent street sexual harassment of women on New Year’s Eve in Mumbai, the need to inform women about places and people they can reach out to for help and sensitive counseling became that much more urgent. This helpline we found received calls from women in abusive relationships as well as those looking for career counseling. The women who answer the hotline are trained in Social Work and Psychological Counselling and not only do they offer a sensitive ear to those calling but also provide referrals to NGOs working in the area of women’s rights.

"Use Me"

Directed by Karuna D'souza, Rajesh Ranjan, Smita Lakra, Shephalika Mishra

This film is a comic public service advertisement on the issue of littering. The concept behind this advertisement is that being conscious of putting your trash in the dustbin is not difficult. It is a simple act.  And with a little bit of effort it can be done. This film is a parody on this idea.
