Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Cell:

The Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Cell was set up in the Tata Institute of Social Sciences to promote the special interests of students in the reserved category with financial assistance from the University Grants Commission. Since its inception, the Cell has been providing special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.

The Cell conducts regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments and making presentations, as well as Hindi and Marathi language classes. The Cell also organizes interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.

Manual has been prepared in order to guide the students to optimally utilise the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government of India and the University Grants Commission.
