The
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai is a premier institute
in the field of social work and social development. It has pioneered
Social work education in India since its inception in 1936 and is
a Deemed university with a five star rating from the National Accredition
and Assessment Committee (NAAC). The institute has a tradition of
an active student community involved in various initiatives.
The
Social Work Students Forum (SWSF), a student body on campus strives
to provide an enhanced learning experience to all by transcending
academic knowledge into field realities.
The
vast array of activities undertaken by the Social Work Students
Forum (SWSF) include:

Mohalla Bolta Hai (MBH): An open space for individuals to voice
their opinions and raise issues of their concerns.

Sameeksha: The Annual Academic Fest of SWSF to explore contemporary
social issues and field realities.

Common Interest Groups (CIGs): A Platform for students who feel
strongly about an issue to come together and work on that issue.

Networking activities: An effort to provide an interface between
activists, professionals, different schools of social work and
other voluntary organizations to harness their collective strengths.

Field Action Projects: An opportunity for students to go beyond
academic discussions and debates and carry forward their interest
as actions in the nearby communities.
