Training

Have conducted training programmes in collaboration with both government and non-governmental organisations, reaching out to people of different disciplines, particularly community-based health personnel, educationists, political workers, trade unions, etc. More recently, several training inputs have been provided on social impact assessment. Have undertaken projects with the Government of India, multilateral funding agencies such as the World Bank, the ADB, and the Government of Mauritius. Some of them are:

  • Training Workshop for Perspective and Sensitivity-Building on Resettlement and Rehabilitation for Ambuja Cement. October 25-27, 2004. The themes on which sessions were taken included, ‘R&R Policy: The Indian Context', ‘Components of a Good R&R', ‘Institutional Arrangements for Implementing R&R'.
  • ‘Towards a Perspective Plan: A Strategy Building Exercise', organised in collaboration with MLD Trust, Mumbai, September 29, 2002.
  • ‘Reviving Traditional Water Management Systems: Community Initiatives', organised in collaboration with Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi , September 6, 2002.
  • 'Transparency and Access to Services: Role of Citizens'. A full day workshop organised in collaboration with Public Concern for Governance -Trust (PCG-T), April 2 & May 18, 2002.
  • UGC Refresher Course for University Teachers on 'Community Organization in the Context of Globalisation: Challenges to Social Work', July 31 to August 20, 2000 at TISS.
