The TISS Alumni Association or TISSAA has successfully registered itself under Section 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. The 2nd Annual General Meeting of TISSAA was held on January 31, 2015 at the Naoroji Campus, TISS, Mumbai. It was attended by 20 alumni members who engaged in meaningful discussions on ways and means to increase alumni engagement with the Institute and the society at large. The members took important decisions regarding the administration and financial strength of the association and pledged to involve more andmore alumni in the activities of the association.

TISSAA organised a workshop on NGO-Business partnership in August 2014, which was attended by 19 NGOs. This workshop was conducted with the aim of enhancing NGOs’ understanding on how business firms work and how business executives think; catering to the requirement of NGOs to align their own processes with business, borrowing tools from the business world wherever it is required; facilitating fund raising for NGOs; establish good governance, accountability and transparency of NGOs, and help them acquire skills and tools that can help them build long term strategic partnerships with businesses.

A blood donation camp was organised in TISS, Mumbai on December 4, 2014. The camp witnessed more than 228 interested donors, among whom 155 donated (were found to be medically eligible to donate blood).

The TISS Review Committee meetings with the alumni were organised in Delhi and Mumbai. This meeting was organised to understand the gap between theory and practice of social sciences as taught in the Institute and as applied on field; current needs of the alumni to serve the society in a better way; and to encourage, promote and facilitate education, field action projects, research, enterprises and other activities of the Institute and alumni.
