ORIENTATION OF TATA TRUSTS-TISS ITE FELLOWSHIP FOR TEACHERS 12TH TO 14TH MARCH, 2020
The Tata Trusts-TISS ITE Fellowship, which is part of Continuous Professional Development program of the Certificate in ICT and Education course is being offered to selected teacher leaders to further accentuate their competence as education leaders in their specialization and ICT integration and nurture them as national leaders. They will disseminate widely their competence and learning with hundreds of teachers in their district and state using online CoPs and series of state-integrated F2F activities, engage in inter-state exchanges, develop research expertise, access international and national forums to showcase their work and acquire cutting edge knowledge and expertise, and build future generation of India’s youth with the 21st-century knowledge economy and citizenship. Out of 31 teacher applicants, 8 were selected for the 6 months fellowship program through a two-layered selection process at TISS.
8 fellows from Assam and West Bengal (4 teachers from government madrasahs in West Bengal, 3 teachers from government schools in Assam and 1 from govt. school in Kolkata, W.B) joined the the 3-days fellowship orientation program at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai from 12th to 14th March,2020. The program covered a wide spectrum of activities planned by the ITE Resource Team lead by Dr. Amina Charania, Associate Professor, CEIAR. Some of the activities included were- virtual session with The Gateway School, Mumbai, orientation on artificial intelligence and Action Research, planning activities and timeline for fellowship program; discussion on various articles around ICT & education; exposure visit to Tata Trusts office; a series of enriching interactions and sharing session with Prof. Shalini Bharat, Director, TISS, Prof. Padma Sarangapani, Chair, CEIAR, Prof. Ajay Singh, Co-Chair, CEIAR and Mr.Satyajit Salian, Head, Education, Tata Trusts.
Mr. Satyajit Salian, Head, Education, Mr. Ujjwal Banerjee, Education, Gujarat Initiative, Mr. Mrityunjay, Mr. Nuruddin and Mr. Zubin from Accounts, Tata Trusts interacted with the teachers at the Tata Trusts office, Mumbai and teachers enthusiastically shared their experiences of ITE.

A very enriching and interactive session with The Gateway School, Mumbai. Ms. Radhika Chandrashekharan, a member and teacher of the school along with 2 teachers and 1 student from the school joined the session and shared their experience of using ICT in their classroom processes and artefact that the student had created using programming application.
