Dr. Asheesh Navneet pursued his PhD from the Institute for Social and Economic Change funded by ICSSR and got the degree awarded in political Science from the University of Mysore in the year 2018. His PhD. work is on policies, governance and political economy of Genetically Modified crops in India. He pursued his M.A. and M.Phil from University of Hyderabad. His M.Phil. work is on studying the political narratives of the advantages and disadvantages of GM crops in India. Beside that he did his B.A. (Hons.) in German Language from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

He joined TISS Tuljapur as Assistant Professor of Political Science on December 2nd, 2019. His latest book is on "The Politics of GM Crops in India: Public Policy Discourse", which has been published by Routledge, India.
