Dr. Natasha Hazarika is currently working as Assistant Professor (Sociology) at the Centre for Undergraduate Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Guwahati Off-campus. She received her PhD from the Department of Sociology, Tezpur University, Assam for her thesis titled "Urbanization of Guwahati city: Changing dynamics of urban space and governance". She has done B.A. (Hons.) Sociology from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi and M.A. in Sociology from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.
Previously, Dr. Hazarika has taught at Gauhati University and Cotton University in Guwahati, Assam. She has been associated with ActionAid India (Northeast) for a project titled "Urban Governance for whom? A study on public amenities and land use in Guwahati city". She was also the Editorial Assistant of the founding committee of Explorations, e-journal of Indian Sociological Society from 2017-2021.
