Ph.D. in Economics
Poulomi Bhattacharya has done her PhD in Economics from Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. Her research interest encompasses agricultural economics, development Economics and Economics of Innovation. She has worked on the linkage between aquaculture and environment and has won two international prizes for that. She has been involved in various research projects as principal and co-principal investigator sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, ICSSR, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India etc. Apart from research, Dr. Poulomi has the experience of teaching Managerial Economics , Macro Economics and Business Environment, Contemporary Indian Economy, Impact evaluation and Development Economics courses at post graduate level. She has previously worked in Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) and IBS Hyderabad. She has published in national and international journals of repute such as World Development, Ocean and Coastal Management, Indian Economic Journal, Science , technology and society, Natural Resources Forum: A United Nations Sustainable Development Journal . She has also served as the Programme Advisory Committee Member for SCSP, SEED Division, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (From July 2019-July 2022).
