Dr. Sarala Rao is Associate Professor at the Centre for Human Resources Management and Labour relations , School of Management and Labour Studies. She has a post graduate degree in Business Administration, a Masters and Doctoral degree in Philosophy from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Prior to joining TISS, she worked for a short while in the corporate and also taught undergraduate and post graduate students. During this period she was nominated by college to lead the college team who participated in the state level social call ‘Janmabh

At the TISS, she teaches courses on HRM, Performance Management , HRM in international settings and HR in  service organizations for Masters and Executive students.

She undertakes projects and conducts studies in the areas of job satisfaction, morale and other HR issues across  organizations. She conducts training programs and workshops in the domain of HRM and LR for both Public and Private Sectors.

Her areas of research includes employee engagement, performance driven culture, cultural dimension in the international context and HR in service organizations.

She Participated in Multi country Observational Study Mission on Public-Private-Academia Partnerships for Industrial Human Resources Development in Tokyo & Nagoya, Japan.
