Doctor of Philosophy (NMIMS, Mumbai)
Sreeram has over two decades of work experience, of which twelve were in the industry and eleven in academia.
He was a faculty in the Marketing Area at the School of Business Management, NMIMS, from 2010 to 2021. He holds a PhD from NMIMS, Mumbai. He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai and holds a PGDBM from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Sreeram brings the best of industry-academic knowledge and expertise to his teaching and research. Before entering academia, he held various marketing and sales roles at ABN AMRO Bank and Standard Chartered Bank. In the former, he was involved in integrating Bank of America’s retail business with ABN AMRO Bank, playing critical roles in product management, sales and relationship management. At Standard Chartered Bank, he was a Program Manager for the Priority Banking program and subsequently Product Head for Business Accounts. He finally ended his stint in banking as Product Head for Mortgages.
His areas of interest in research include investor behaviour, customer engagement, sales promotions, sales management and B2B marketing. His research publications include several papers in peer-reviewed journals. He has also written several cases that have been published in prominent case publishing outlets. His articles have also been published in prominent business dailies like the Financial Express, Mint and DNA Money.
He has been teaching courses in Sales and Marketing for over 12 years. He has delivered training programs for companies like Mercedes Benz, USV, Novartis, Ambuja Cement, and SMG Convonix. He has also accomplished challenging consulting assignments for several leading companies. He has won several awards for his teaching and research.
Outside of work, Sreeram likes to travel and read across genres (historical fiction, crime fiction, behavioural economics, personal finance and others).
