Dr. Vinod Kumar is an assistant professor at the School of Public Policy and Governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences Hyderabad Off-Campus. Before Joining TISS, he worked as a visiting faculty at Amity University Lucknow Campus, and as a Guest faculty at Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (D.U). He taught Political Theory, Indian Government in Comparative Perspective, Indian Polity: Processes and Structures, Public Policy and Law, Political Obligation and Law, Contemporary Global Politics and other papers related to Political Science. His doctoral thesis is on the “National Identity and Question of Ethno-Religious Minorities in the Islamic Republic of Iran: A Study of Azeris and Baluchs”, which examines the socio-economic and political conditions of Azeris and Baluchs in particular, and other minorities in general in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He has been part of two research projects at CDS (Hyderabad) and Primus (Chandigarh), on themes such as the impact assessment of skill development schemes of Haryana Skill Development Mission and the impact assessment of labour welfare schemes of Haryana Labour Welfare Board (HLWB) in the State of Haryana
Research Interest: Nationalism, Nationality, Ethnicity and Identity Politics.
